If you’ve run marathon, you know it can be a lonely experience. Trapped in your own thoughts and questioning everything at times. Am I too fast? Is my heart rate too high? Why did I ever think I can do this?
But the positivity and encouragement of complete strangers can be a powerful force to help you push through the most challenging aspects of the race.
That was my case in NYC last week when I was set to raw dog the marathon without my name on my shirt or bib. Enter Pen and Paces. Thanks to them I was able to grab a custom name bib at the expo that attached perfectly to my NYRR bib.
Come Sunday — it was those cheers from strangers that helped me dig down and get to the finish line. Thank you Pen and Paces.
